How do I use Smart Upload to upload multiple documents?

  • Uploading documents into a Document Management system can be complex, with check-in/checkout assigning meta-data and ensuring files are named in line with the Projects naming convention. 

    To simplify uploading documents into Fulcrum, it is recommended to use Fulcrum’s Smart Upload feature which streamlines the process to upload and send or just upload documents with the key benefits being:

    • Smart Upload also remembers your choices (meta data and upload destination) for you to use the next time.
    • Based on the meta-data you select, Fulcrum will assign Fulcrum filenames for all the new files.
    • The original filename will be copied to the Title field.
    • Users can select to send all the files to others with a single click. 

    To upload multiple documents using Smart Upload:

    1. To access the Smart Upload feature, click on the Smart Upload from left navigation.
     

     
    2. On the Smart upload screen, drag-drop the documents and select required Metadata.

    3. Click on the Upload button to upload all the files you've dragged onto the screen. On successful upload, a success message and an option to Send Mail will be displayed after successful upload.


    You can either send the uploaded files as attachments via Fulcrum mail (Send Mail button) or you can start a new Smart Upload (New Upload button).


     4. If you wish to share the newly uploaded files as attachments, you can click on Send Mail This will create a new mail with the above documents pre-attached. Fill in all the required details in the new mail and Send.


     5. Alternatively, if you wish to upload another set of documents, click on New Upload button to start a new Smart upload.
